Gwangju City and Gwangju Technopark (President Seong-jin Kim) held a forum on the 12th in the conference room on the 2nd floor to transform the cosmetics industry into a high value-added industry that combines medical care and pharmaceuticals under the supervision of the Gwangju Beauty Cosmetic Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Il-seung Jeon).
In this forum, Gwangju Cosmetics Industry Association, Korea Dental Equipment Industry Association, Small and Medium Business Administration, etc. participated in this forum together with about 80 member companies including Jeon Il-seung, president of Gwangju Beauty Cosmetic Industry Promotion Association, Gwangju Technopark, Chonnam National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Chonnam National University Hospital Dermatology Department, Chosun University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Korea Dental Equipment Industry Association, and the Small and Medium Business Administration. We plan to work together to make a leap forward.
In particular, the cosmetic industry that Gwangju City is specializing and nurturing recently is a promising industry that combines pharmaceuticals with cosmetics. It is a high value-added industry that can increase added value by 50 to 500% compared to general cosmetics. Products that show drug effects by enhancing specific functions such as anti-aging are key areas.
In this forum, a large number of organizations supporting the Gwangju cosmetic industry to develop into a cosmetic and medical care industry that combines biocompatible and proven medicinal ingredients with the cosmetics and medical industries also participated. in parallel
Gwangju Technopark Director Kim Seong-jin said, “With the increase in the elderly population, the cosmetic industry is expected to make a great contribution to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs. If specifically promoted, the Gwangju beauty industry will soon play a role as the vanguard of K-beauty.”
